To be perfectly prepared for your Elephant Hills Adventure, we have collected a couple of helpful hints and tips for you to read before your departure.

Please have a look below.

Important Update for the Rainforest Camp:

We would like to inform you that in order to improve your experience at Elephant Hills and the Rainforest Camp, we have built a new reception area nearby Cheow Larn Lake. This area is used for luggage storage. All trips heading to the Rainforest Camp (our luxury floating tented camp) will stop here. Large bags will be left here and only overnight packs or hand luggage will be taken to the Rainforest Camp. To make things easier for you we recommend that if you are returning to the same hotel after your stay with us that you store your large suitcases at that particular hotel and bring a  weekend pack with your essentials. If you are moving onwards after your stay with us then please prepare a small bag (backpack or similar) for the Rainforest Camp parts of your trip. We do have small waterproof bags available for sale at our gift shop should you not be able to find the right bag.

Tour Packages

All Elephant Hills tours are fully inclusive of accommodation, activities, tour guide, full board as well as joint transfers to and from Rainforest Camp. Not included are soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, tips and gratuities.

Payment will be made via credit card. Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you a secure payment link via email to process your payment.

The tropically warm monsoon starts in May and ends around October. This is the best time to visit Elephant Hills: The temperature stays between 25-32C during daytime, and the landscape shines in a lush green with an immense increase in spotting wild animals.

Sun protection, mosquito spray, non-slip shoes, loose comfortable clothes, rain coat, swim wear and most important your passport for check in.

We recommend consulting a tropical doctor before traveling to Thailand. Generally Khao Sok is not a malaria area.

Sure. Despite having all accident and group insurances exceeding requirements by the Thai law, we can only welcome guests to Elephant Hills with personal travel insurance.

Accommodation & Food:

Rainforest Camp features 20 floating luxury tents.

There is only one “room type”, which has either 1 big double bed or 2 separate twin beds. In case of 3 adults a third bed can be provided.

At Rainforest Camp, we can provide one extra bed per tent, meaning one tent can host up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Larger families will be accommodated in several tents. Children are welcome to stay overnight at Rainforest Camp from 7 years of age..

Rainforest Camp runs with both Solar and Wind energy. Despites this usually being sufficient, we always recommend to charge up electronic devices such as cameras before traveling to Rainforest Camp.

On the Rainforest Camp there is neither a Wi-Fi nor a phone signal. This is a chance to forget everyday stress and switch off your phone without feeling guilty to enjoy pure nature at its very best. Don’t forget that we provide Wi-Fi at The Elephant Camp.

Of course we offer a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes at our buffet for lunch and dinner. Enjoying your meal in the stunning scenery of Choew Lawn Lake is a really highlight. Breakfast offers a rather Western food selection, with a choice of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs. Moreover we provide Coffee, Cacao, Tea and water.

Our chefs not only offer special dishes for guests with food allergies, they also love to prepare vegetarian, vegan, halal less spicy or any other kind of meals on request. Please do inform us about any food allergies or other dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Please note that due to the location of our two Luxury Tented Camps we can only accept cash payments on-site. This includes drinks expenses and souvenir purchases. We kindly ask you to prepare sufficient cash in Thai Baht (THB).
